We are always happy to welcome new families. Enrollment takes a few simple steps:
1. Contact us. Reach out through our website, by phone, email, or in person.
2. Schedule a tour. We encourage families to visit, see our environment, meet the teachers, and ask questions.
3. Review and complete the agreement. After the tour, we will provide the enrollment agreement.
4. Wait for confirmation. If a space is available for your child, we will contact you and send the registration packet.
5. Complete enrollment. Return the forms and pay the deposit by the stated deadline. Please read the agreement and Parent Handbook before paying the deposit to make sure our policies and terms are a good fit. Your child’s space is confirmed once we receive the deposit and signed agreement.
6. Set a start date. We will agree on the start date with you. Tuition begins on the date listed in the agreement. If circumstances change, contact us and we will consider reasonable adjustments.
7. Review the termination terms. We do not require a fixed-term contract. You may end care at any time with 30 days’ notice. The first 30 days are a trial period, during which either party may end the agreement without advance notice.
To reserve a space, families pay a deposit equal to two weeks of tuition. The deposit is nonrefundable and is applied to the child’s final two weeks of care.
The deposit holds a place for your child in our group. It gives your family confidence that the space is reserved and helps us plan staffing and enrollment.
The deposit is nonrefundable because we reserve the space for your child and may turn away another family. This supports stable enrollment and consistent quality of care.
Tuition is due monthly on the first day of each month. Payment methods and other details are provided in the enrollment packet after your child is accepted.
We understand that unexpected situations happen. If you think payment may be late, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss available options.
Families with two or more enrolled children receive a discount for the second and each additional child.
We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM.
Morning drop-off is typically between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. This gives families time to share important updates with the teacher. Pick-up is typically between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
You may drop off or pick up at another time during the day. When possible, please avoid drop-off and pick-up during nap time, usually 1:00–3:30 PM, so the other children are not disturbed.
We offer flexible attendance options. Please coordinate your child’s schedule with the daycare in advance.
- If your child is unwell or shows signs of illness—such as a fever, cough, significant runny nose, vomiting, or a rash—please keep them home.
- If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness, such as chickenpox, strep throat, or the flu, please let us know as soon as possible.
- A child with a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher must stay home and may return after being fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
- During an outbreak, we follow current local public health guidance.
- After a contagious illness, a child may return once fully recovered and, when required, cleared by a health care provider.
We can administer medication only with your written authorization. Medication must be provided in its original packaging, clearly labeled with your child’s name and dosage instructions. It is stored securely, and every dose is documented. If your child needs emergency medication, such as an inhaler, please tell us and provide clear written instructions.
Please keep your emergency contact information current. We conduct regular fire and earthquake drills, and staff members are trained in first aid and emergency response. In an emergency, we will contact families promptly through our private Telegram group and by phone.
Children must meet California immunization requirements for child care enrollment. This helps protect the health of all children and staff.
Secure environment. Childproof locks, safety gates, and controlled entrances help keep children safe.
Active supervision. Children remain under attentive adult supervision throughout the day.
Emergency preparedness. We practice fire and earthquake procedures and maintain first-aid and evacuation plans.
Cleanliness and hygiene. Rooms, toys, and shared surfaces are cleaned regularly, and children are encouraged to follow healthy hygiene habits.
Age-appropriate equipment. Toys and learning materials are selected and maintained with safety in mind.
Qualified staff. Required background checks and fingerprint clearances are completed for caregivers.
Secure video monitoring. Cameras help us maintain a safe, transparent environment.
Open communication. Families are informed promptly about any concern involving their child.
Our goal is a calm, caring environment where every child feels secure and supported.
Biting can occur during early childhood as children learn to communicate and manage strong emotions. We respond calmly and consistently:
- We immediately separate and comfort the children involved and provide appropriate first aid.
- We notify both families while protecting each child’s privacy.
- We observe the circumstances to identify patterns, triggers, or unmet needs.
- We help the child practice safe ways to communicate and express feelings.
- We work with families on a consistent plan when additional support is needed.
- We keep information about other children confidential.
Our goal is to keep everyone safe while helping children develop healthy ways to express themselves.
We maintain small groups so every child receives attentive care. Our typical ratios are:
- Children under age 2: one teacher for every four children.
- Children age 2 and older: one teacher for every six children.
LisenOK is licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, and meets applicable requirements for a licensed family child care home.
To protect everyone’s health, please keep your child home when they are sick or may be contagious.
- A fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher.
- Unusual lethargy, irritability, or persistent crying.
- A persistent cough, thick or colored nasal discharge, or difficulty breathing.
- Diarrhea or vomiting.
- Mouth sores or an unexplained rash, unless a health care provider confirms the condition is not contagious.
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye).
- A communicable illness such as chickenpox, mumps, measles, roseola, hepatitis A, impetigo, head lice, ringworm, scabies, strep throat, scarlet fever, tuberculosis, shingles, or another contagious condition.
If your child becomes sick while in care, we will contact you right away. Please arrange pick-up within one hour of our call.
Your child may return after fully recovering. Depending on the illness, medical clearance may be required. Thank you for helping us protect the health of our entire daycare community.
We know how important nutritious, balanced food is for growing children. We serve wholesome, kid-friendly meals prepared with care from high-quality ingredients.
- Three main meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Two snacks: a morning and afternoon snack such as fruit, berries, yogurt, or crackers.
- Milk and water throughout the day, along with a house-made fruit drink.
We offer a varied menu designed to support children’s energy, growth, and well-being.
- Wholesome choices. We favor fresh, simple foods and limit heavily processed, greasy, or excessively sweet items.
- Individual needs. Please tell us about allergies, intolerances, or special dietary needs. We can adjust the menu and, when necessary, coordinate food brought from home.
Our goal is to help children develop healthy habits and stay active and energetic throughout the day.
A few simple steps can make the transition easier:
- Talk about daycare positively, show photos, or read books about starting daycare.
- Stay calm and confident—children take cues from adults.
- Help your child join an activity when you arrive.
- Say a clear, confident goodbye and avoid prolonging the separation.
- Be honest about leaving and returning; do not sneak away.
We know families want to see how their child’s day is going. We regularly take photos and short videos during activities, playtime, and outdoor time.
Photos, videos, important updates, and announcements are shared in a private Telegram group available only to enrolled families.
Please bring:
- An easy-to-use water bottle.
- Diapers, wipes, and diaper cream, if needed.
- Several weather-appropriate changes of clothing.
- A jacket or other outerwear appropriate for the season.
- Comfortable shoes that are easy to put on, preferably Velcro or slip-on shoes without laces.
- A small comfort item for nap time, if helpful.
Please leave other toys at home; we provide a wide range of toys and learning materials. LisenOK provides sunscreen and applies it before outdoor play.
